Culture Day Silver Microphone [Jeolla·Jeju Region]

This year, Silver Mic in the Jeolla/Jeju region will be presented as a series of street performances that share messages about life with all generations and create a place for everyone to connect. Rather than simply showcasing performance skills, these performances are designed to share the artists’ stories and passion with local residents, celebrating the brightest moments of their lives. “Our Stories Blooming on Stage” is a performance project that aims to create the finest moments of self-expression, undeterred by society’s definition of retirement. As the life stories of senior artists—their past, present, and future—are shared with local residents through performances, the artists find new meaning in life and fulfill it as cultural creators, while audiences are encouraged to discover lives enriched by culture and emotion. Through Silver Mic, which weaves together stories everyone has experienced or will experience and the spirit of the local community, audiences can encounter senior artists presenting a diverse range of music and performances throughout the Jeolla/Jeju region, including areas close to where people live and work.
