The Dalbam Gymnastics Busan Challenge is a Busan-specific everyday sports program designed to encourage citizens, including those unfamiliar with exercise or usually uninterested in it, to take part in sports activities easily and enjoyably. Its goals are to expand participation in everyday sports, promote health, and create a lively nighttime leisure culture. Hosted and organized by Busan Metropolitan City, this citizen-participation event makes use of outdoor spaces such as parks and waterfront areas representing Busan, allowing residents to enjoy regular sports activities under the moonlight on autumn nights.
The main program features a range of everyday sports activities, including gymnastics, yoga, circuit training, Zumba, and exercise for children, taught by well-known fitness influencers. The event also includes everyday sports performances such as taekwondo, jump rope, boxing, and cheerleading, as well as cultural performances such as magic, comedy, busking, and concerts. It is a festival-style event with participatory activities that citizens can enjoy firsthand, including a citizen fitness challenge, a fitness king competition, Tabata and spinning challenges, and a random-play dance challenge.
The event venue also hosts everyday sports experiences such as archery, basketball, bowling, and golf, along with health-related experience booths offering fitness assessments, exercise consultations, taping, and pain care. A variety of activities are also available for families to enjoy together. This is a citizen-participation sports festival that combines everyday sports programs with performances, participatory events, and family activities to lower barriers to exercise and expand opportunities to take part in sports in daily life.
