The Gangneung Noodle Festival is a signature culinary festival held in Gangneung, a city of noodles where dishes such as jang-kalguksu (spicy noodle soup), makguksu (buckwheat noodles), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and potato dumpling kalguksu are especially beloved. Popular as the Gangneung Noodle Festival through 2025, the event's Korean name was changed for its 5th edition in 2026 to make it more familiar to the public and reflect more diverse aspects of local identity. In 2026, it takes place on Wolhwa Street for 4 days, from 10/15 to 10/18. Alongside food zones offering a wide variety of Gangneung noodles, the festival features plenty to see and enjoy, with noodle dishes from the city's leading restaurants and hidden eateries tucked away in its alleys. Enjoy the golden autumn of 2026 on Wolhwa Street with hands-on activities, exhibitions, competitions, cooking shows, and more.
