This is the 5th special donation exhibition introducing newly donated artifacts in the Kyungwoon Museum collection.
Kyungwoon Museum (Director Seol Yeong-ja) presents its 2026 special donation exhibition, “Beautiful Donations, Precious Collections V (2026.9.17.~12.19.),” in conjunction with the “2026 Museum and Art Museum Cultural Program” supported by Gangnam-gu Office. Kyungwoon Museum held 4 special donation exhibitions in the first halves of 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2022, continuing to introduce new artifacts carefully collected through the generous donations of Kyunggi Girls’ High School alumnae and the public. This 5th special donation exhibition presents newly donated artifacts collected from 2022.4 to 2024.8.
Around 150 artifacts are on display, including jewelry collected over 3 generations, a first-birthday belt believed to date from before 1900, a morning coat worn by the protagonist of a beautiful love story, an old-fashioned eyeglass case, a child’s sagyusam robe and saekdong durumagi coat expressing wishes for health and longevity, and a gat hat box decorated with a taegeuk motif. These donations are not simply old objects: they hold precious memories that have connected and safeguarded families across generations and eras while retaining their pride and dignity. They are treasured legacies bearing the wisdom and cultural discernment of earlier generations. We hope their beauty, still alive across the ages, will resonate deeply in your hearts.
